Tired of Being Little

Hello, my name’s John Allen.
Some think being a kid is fun,
but I’m tired of being little.
I’ll be glad when it is done.
Everyone pats me on the head,
telling me how cute I am.
I smile, nod, and say,
"Thank you," and, "Yes, ma’am."
