Getting up too early on a too cold January first after partying the year away was not, in Sage's opinion, the best way to start the new year. Asleep in bed with a good job, good health insurance and all her friends would be.

Pity all she had was her friends and an icy road down to the Shinto Shrine outside of Seattle, WA.

Except not.

Because everything was better with her friends and the New Year was the best time for making wishes, having fun, and doing new things.
