Chae In-seon was born in 1962 in Hambaek, Gangwon-do and attended school in Seoul. Chae graduated from Sungkyunkwan University as French Language and Literature major. She worked as an editor at a publishing company and later began to write children’s books. She has written many picture books including Urina, the Best Driver Ever!, How Was Gimbap Made?, The Monkey Siblings, Dumplings Made by the Big Hands Grandmother, Daughters Are Great, The Red-Striped Pants, and I’m My Own Boss, as well as books for children such as My Desk Mate Choe Yeongdae, The Beautiful Dictionary of Values, and My First Korean Dictionary.
