Within this book is the story of a drive along the bottom of a gorge where a ghost town once stood. It also contains the story of a melancholy walk through a freezing storm in Slovakia, and an account of what seems to be the last lonely spot in Venice, and many others. Taken as a whole, its stories tell of how wanderers are always home, and how one can find creative inspiration in anything - even a raincloud.
