21st Century Education Movement

The College of Education has provided me the opportunity to explore and gain mastery of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to become a truly effective teacher in a traditional classroom setting.  This has been done through a thorough investigation of the foundations of education, student learning theory, and an overview of multiple instructional and curricular methodological approaches. While thankful for the rich experiences and opportunities to connect coursework to applied teaching opportunities, I recognize that traditional pedagogy and instructional tasks will merely be the foundation for my desire to create a truly innovative approach to instruction in the classroom to meet the immediate and future needs of 21st century learners.  This iBook captures the impact and advancements new literacies and digital devices have had on my own academic development, and more importantly, it captures how technology integration has molded my educational beliefs and how these tools will influence my instructional approaches as a future educator.
