Christopher Marlowe’s "The Massacre at Paris": A Retelling
Descripción editorial
This is an easy-to-read retelling of Christopher Marlowe’s last play: "The Massacre at Paris." The full title is "The Massacre at Paris with the Death of the Duke of Guise." This book is about the events leading up to the Saint Bartholomew Day’s Massacre on 24 August 1572. In the beginning of the massacre, French Catholics murdered French Protestants in Paris, but the massacre spread to other parts of France. This book is also about the massacre itself, as well as the events that followed it. The play’s — and this book’s — main theme is the dangers of religious hatred and extreme religious factions.
