Education in a Democratic Republic

These essays by friends and colleagues hope to honor the work of Peter W. Schramm (1946–2015), who was from 1987 to 2015 successively Associate Director, Executive Director, and Senior Fellow of the Ashbrook Center while a Professor of Politics at Ashland University.


All that Peter accomplished was animated by his conviction that political freedom and liberal education were inseparable and that both were made possible by and ultimately were meant to preserve the mysterious freedom of the human mind.
