It Starts with the Eyes. . .
Untold Stories Drawn on Glass
Descripción editorial
After years of not drawing figures, suddenly I found I could! It came from letting that discipline go for a couple of decades. I can only attribute this new skill to the concept of letting ground “lie fallow”—giving it a rest so it can produce a better crop at a later date. I found that, over the years, I had internalized gesture and posture intuitively!
As I did these doodle-drawings, I began to include props and put the figures in settings. They became characters in small stories. Stories that were untold—like a snapshot in time. Stories that I might further illustrate someday. However, I wanted to share them now—to encourage others to give another run at a discipline they may have put aside—and that encouragement applies to any discipline!
(When I put this ebook together, it was never in my thought to be a perfectionist or to tell others how to draw figures, and there will be some readers who may even think the drawings lack sophistication. However, think of it as a “show-and-tell” effort, in which I invite the reader to join me in experiencing my delight at this new-found ability.
And lastly, all the doodle-drawings in the book were done while listening to audio books, and I started with the eyes.
