Lost Overboard

After his return from London Dag Meldel finds an old case file on his desk. There is no indication why it is there or who put it there. But before he has time to even open it a new case comes in. A boy is missing, presumed lost overboard from one of the Hurtigruten ships that ply the coast of Norway. By the time the ship docks at Kristiansund and Dag questions the Captain it becomes clear to him that the boy has not been lost overboard. But how did he mysteriously disappear from the vessel and what happened to him? When Dag eventually gets around to looking at the old file still in his tray he discovers it is a strange case that mirrors the new one. Another boy was lost overboard from the same ship forty-six years before. And all the people involved are connected.
