Low Life Lawyer details the rise and fall – and rise again – of a rogue lawyer who is also a talented jazz clarinet musician. Inspired by a lengthy legal and journalist career, Michael Simmons has taken inspiration from novelists such as John Grisham and Kingsley Amis to bring us this gripping legal thriller, featuring protagonist Richard Gregory plus a literary cameo from American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Sidney Bechet. It’s set in the 1950s and 60s.
