Memorials, Symbols and Commemoration

Telling the Anzac Story

Descripción editorial

‘Memorials, Symbols and Commemoration’ showcases a selection of Anzac memorials from South East Queensland, Australia. It shows a range of styles, and symbols used in war memorials in the region, including soldier memorials, obelisks, memorial gates,  modern memorials, Indigenous memorials and war animal memorials. The book is suitable for school students, as a classroom resource, or for general reading.  Memorials were photographed by Janis Hanley and Di Morris, many in the lead up to the 2015 Anzac Centenary. This book was made possible through assistance from Federal Government Anzac funding provided by Wright, Moncrief and McPherson electorates to the Mudgeeraba Light Horse Museum.
