Descripción editorial

Coal seam gas (CSG) mining has affected communities and families in different ways. It has provided employment for some and devastation for others. In this story, Amy shares her story of what CSG has meant to her. Amy is 9, she has a sister, Edwina, who is 7, and they both live on a farm with their mum and dad. Their Nan and Pop live in the homestead on the hill. This story is based on facts gathered via interviews and discussions with many people over time. These people have been involved in the anti-CSG movement, either as victims, protestors, or both. Their experiences are real, but it was the story of Brian Monk and his family from Kogan, Queensland that impelled me to tell of their plight and others affected by CSG exploration and mining in their area.
