Nantucket's North Shore: A Neighborhood History is a 144-page history of an island neighborhood that has been inhabited continuously for three-and-a-half centuries, and has experienced waves of change in its residents and the circumstances of their lives. Nearly two hundred photographs from the Nantucket Historical Association and several modern-day images from Island photographer Allen Reinhard illustrate the book, telling the story of the people and settlement of Nantucket that began at one end of the island and arrived at the other. Nantucket's North Shore: A Neighborhood History is labor of love to retrieve and preserve neighborhood history that might otherwise fade completely from living memory.
