Frank R. Stockton (1834-1902) was an American writer and humorist. His most notable work is a series of fairy tales for children, in which typical moralizing and didactics were switched with making fun of human vices and inappropriate behavior. Such innovation made his fairy tales rather popular in the end of XIX century.
Round-about Rambles in Lands of Fact and Fancy is a collection of short stories for children by Frank R. Stockton. Each story has its own narrative, characters and subjects, they all are united by the literary sophistication, witty humor and childish simplicity. This collection is a museum of one author’s fantasy and creativity, and Building Ships is its wonderful showpiece, admired by young and old. Read and you’ll enjoy every bit!
