Frank R. Stockton (1834-1902) was an American writer and humorist. His most notable work is a series of fairy tales for children, in which typical moralizing and didactics were switched with making fun of human vices and inappropriate behavior. Such innovation made his fairy tales rather popular in the end of XIX century.
