The Last Glass

"I know you're clumsy, but don't break them." These were her father's dying words to Amy, and they haunted her like a witch's curse. Along with a small inheritance, he had left her three crystal glasses and the admonition that told her all she needed to know about his opinion of her - awkward, irresponsible, selfish, a disappointment, not like her mother at all. He never needed to say all the words to get his point across. She put the glasses in a cabinet and vowed to take care of them, but accidents happened, and now only one was left. Amy imagined the disapproving spirit of her father watching her. Could she ever be free?
