Descripción editorial

`It started with a letter..... ` When Edward Dalton, a London gentleman and writer on architectural matters, arrived in the remote Cornish village of Treverro in 1792, he could not have anticipated the dramatic and secretive smugglers world he had unwittingly stumbled upon.

The story reveals itself through each letter, poem, newspaper cutting .. and gravestone he discovers. Who was Thomas Dudley ? … and had he really perished at the hands of the Kings Dragoons one dark and stormy night ? And what of his widow Elizabeth ?

A gripping tale in the Poldark tradition, based on painstaking research of the period by author Edwina Camm.

The story is narrated by Petroc Trelawny of Radio 3 fame, himself a proud Cornish native, and enhanced with sound effects, music, full text and illustrations. The book skilfully transports the listener to a small Cornish smuggling village and a lost world which is meticulously re-created down to the finest detail.

Edwina Camm, 28, is a recent graduate of Falmouth University's prestigious Authorial Illustration faculty. She lives in Cornwall and is passionate about historical eras.
