Historians have purported that the game of baseball dates to as far as the nineteenth century. The first professional baseball league is believed to have its genesis in the 1870s. This later translated to the creation of teams across almost all the major cities. The sport which started as a simple game of entertainment has, over the decades, evolved into one of the most popular pastimes among the American population. The evolution and growth of the sandlot sport of earlier days, lead to the creation of leagues, teams, championships and players that are now among the most revered in the industry. Each New Year brings a new Baseball season and with it, a renewed excitement among fans. Baseball enthusiast eagerly anticipate the Drafted players, the most watched prospects as well the release of the season’s schedule of games. The highly anticipated 117th baseball season commences in April 2017 and is expected to include approximately thirty (30) teams and over 162 season games.
