Publisher Description

The next morning, after Eboto had gone out, I packed my things and was going away when I met one of his friends who asked me where I was going with bags. I just told him:

“I want to give these things to a friend of mine whose house got burned and she does not have clothes anymore”. He was like

“Wow that is so nice of you I wish we had more of your type in this community”.

I knew I had to walk faster because he worked in the same place as my husband and was certainly going to mention that he saw me.

I got into Mokig’s house later in the evening and met him sitting outside with a sorrowful look. As soon as he saw me, he rushed to me and hugged me asking me so many questions… all at the same time. But then he asked me to come into the house. I was certain that I wanted to tell him the truth but I did not want to hurt him. I just had to do it because I knew that Eboto was going to come back for me. So I told him that there was something I wanted to tell him.

“I know that you love me so much but there are some things that you do not know about me”

But he cut me short and told me that he did not need to know how I lived my life before he married me. All that mattered to him was that I had been a good wife. But he wanted to know where I was and if I was fine. My eyes were filled with tears, knowing how much he cared for me and nevertheless, I was going to hurt him. So I told him everything about Eboto and I. All he said was that he needed to go out and that he did not want to meet me when he got back…
