Gl'Igannati

Written by the prestigious members of the Accademia degli Intronati, a center of intellectual discussion and activity in 1550s Italy, Gl'Igannati (The Deceived) was popular among women audiences at the time of its publication in 1531. William Shakespeare rewrote the comedy and published it under the title Twelfth Night around 1601.
