Josephine E. Butler

An autobiography about English feminist Josephine E. Butler, including her works to better the welfare of prostitutes in Victorian England. Butler was a very active feminist, initially campaigning for the higher education of women. Butler eventually became involved with the cause to make the livelihoods of prostitutes better. Butler attended meetings to discuss the issue and led the repeal of the Contagious Diseases Act in 1869.
