Mimicry

Samantha thought the apocalyptic millennium fears were false. She lived in a sheltered world, forced to work young and take care of her alcoholic mother. As the biggest party of the year approached, Samantha decided it was time she enjoyed herself. Little did she know; all those rumours and fears of Y2K would come true.


While working in the fairground she and her mother owned, Samantha enjoyed the firework display at midnight. As the countdown begun, an earthquake rattled their town. Her park came crashing down around her. When the aftershock had passed, Samantha soon realised she was no longer in her time or world. She had passed into a parallel wasteland. 


Faced with the people she’d known and loved from her world, and familiar enemies, Samantha has to navigate her way through a new world. However, this world is unlike hers. This new world is devastated by the effects of the millennium, and by a greater evil which hunts human life. 


Not only was her quest to save her life and return home, but she had to also save the ones she cared for. Samantha found herself travelling towards an active volcano to save this new world, and in return, save her own. Along the way she is faced with the hidden truths which may keep her captive in this one. First, she would have to survive the creatures which lurked in the darkness.
