Grover ( Jump Attack) spends half of his second book making a sales pitch for his sports-performance training services (at Attack Athletics in Chicago), and the other half lamenting the fact that most people are little more than slackers. The book is written in an unremittingly abrasive style ("When people rip me for being an asshole... it means I'm on a level they can't attain") that's bound to irk some as much as it inspires others. Grover explains the differences between three types of individuals "Coolers, Closers, and Cleaners" whose competitive focus and passion are, respectively, good, great, and unstoppable. A Cleaner is "the most intense and driven competitor imaginable," someone whose ultimate success comes from tapping into his or her "dark side" and acting on instinct. Grover builds the book around "the Relentless 13," a baker's dozen of Cleaner characteristics that can be applied both on and off the field; they include attacking opponents' weaknesses, being feared more than liked, and never recognizing failure. He must know what he's talking about Grover is, after all, Michael Jordan's personal trainer, and he served as the director of sports performance for the United States' 2012 Olympic basketball team but his approach is truly, relentlessly irritating.

Stoped in the middle
For me, after reading books from Jocko Willink or David Goggins, this is not mandatory position.
First of all, if great trainer and mentor decided to skip to books and he expect to make money from it, he should give what he knows. Talking that he make Dwayne healthy or other player get rid of weight is what we know he is capable of. I buy this book to know How! If you cant tell, stay in gym and train people. I expect you tell me how to be guy that everyone looks for in case of emergency, not that you will tell is you are this guy - we know this. And if someone who for example have problemy with alkohol and buy this book to became strong and relentles - he will Find info that he can drink. Very weak. I guess author mentally stays in 1980’s. Clear example - for Tim closer make plans, cleaner dont have to make plans. But later When he describe situation with military action and sudenly closed door in building, he said that closer will not freak out because he make all verions what can happend before and he is ready with plan. Do more like closer... No Logic. Dwayne wade holds up whole season so LBJ could step up? He is cleaner because he creates possibility for lbj to join? You get that much money from dw and No check from lbj that you so mad? According to your theory, Dwayne as a cleaner should crush lbj for „the decision” and than take 2 championship by himself. „i will quit from 2-3 milions of my salary to have lbj and win trophy - that is cleaner? And lbj closer? No cleaner would say i want my whole salary and ring. Not to reduce dw talent, just looks like you puting on top those persons who use your services, Thats all. Only question i have at 67% of book - why lebrons deal with nike is so painful to you? You look like you cant live with fact he takes 100m $ before Game 1, and you Ain’t get a shit from that. Because of that you would change king to #5 drafted and move your customer w to #1. Finally, Dwayne make one stupid thing, and you praise it a lot - he broke kobe (rip #8 #24) nose at all stars game. Because he is a cleaner? Stupid. What next, dunk on his kids and wife? You need to know When you can let go and have fun. Than you are cleaner because you not affraid to Wear this mask all time, even if not . You wrote „talk never goes in price” what you tel about Muhammad Ali than? Was he the one who was affraid because he was talking much?
