The Last Shot

Bombay, 1951. When once famed British film director, Roger Boorman, is shot dead, his body stuffed into the trunk of his car, Persis, India's first female police detective, is tasked with finding his killer.

Working with Archie Blackfinch, a forensic scientist from the Metropolitan Police service in London, she discovers that Boorman was a man whose work on a troubled film set inspired heated rivalries - and a possible link to a previous death.

Persis soon finds herself drawn into a web of danger and deceit in the murky, behind-the-scenes world of Bombay's film business.

In India's city of dreams, it is sometimes nightmares that prevail...
