Adam D. Moore, Privacy Rights: Moral and Legal Foundations (University Park: Pennsylvania State University Press, 2010), x + 237 pp. Advocates of privacy should welcome Adam Moore's engaging defense of privacy rights, and in particular his iconoclastic challenge to the prevailing view that privacy is fine so long as it does not impinge on free speech. Moore poses thought-provoking questions and deepens our understanding of why and to what extent we should value privacy, though I am not persuaded by all of his pro-privacy positions and though I think there are some weaknesses in the moral foundation he tries to establish for privacy.
