Esta edição da Constituição da República Portuguesa em versão bilingue: Português-Inglês reproduz o texto oficial aprovado pelo Parlamento Português, em 2005, no âmbito da Sétima Revisão Constitucional.


O texto constitucional original foi aprovado pela Assembleia Constituinte, a 2 de abril de 1976, e entrou oficialmente em vigor a 25 de Abril de 1976.


Até ao momento, a Constituição, de 1976, já foi alvo de 7 revisões constitucionais: 1982, 1989, 1992, 1997, 2001, 2004 e 2005.

This edition of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic in a bilingual version: Portuguese-English reflects the official text approved by the Portuguese Parliament, in 2005, within the scope of the Seventh Constitutional Review.


The original constitutional text was approved by the Portuguese Constituent Assembly on April 2, 1976, and legaly entered into force on April 25, 1976.


So far, the 1976 Constitution has been the target of 7 constitutional revisions: 1982, 1989, 1992, 1997, 2001, 2004 and 2005.
