Crime Doesn't Pay

Crime doesn't pay, or does it? A tale set in the East End of London and spanning over half a century. An unwanted pregnancy, a forced adoption, a life of crime, murders and complete and total loss is nothing new to this family. Ruby Chilvers was a simple girl, not gifted with high intelligence, getting pregnant at sixteen was devastating and when her child was snatched from her arms she didn't think she would ever get over the loss. Marrying a brute her life turns into a living hell and even having two more children didn't compensate for the baby she had taken from her. Add to the mix a problem with the Russian mafia and when forty years later Ruby is contacted by her supposedly long lost son, life for the Chilvers family turns into a nightmare.
