In the royal gardens of Aranjuez, a court of polished ceremony conceals a world of suspicion, surveillance, and forbidden desire. Prince Carlos, isolated and anguished, is pressed by the king's confessor, Domingo, then finds momentary refuge in the return of the Marquis of Posa, his one true friend.
