Drum Diaries

Welcome to the Drum Diaries!  The intention of this series is to give you a “cell” or snippet of musical information to fire-start your daily practice sessions.  You can use each day’s material to work on technique, reading, styles or improvise with drumset or any other percussion instrument.  Included with each diary entry are helpful practice tips as well as an audio recording of that particular day’s entry.  Throughout each week you will find instructional videos geared toward specific techniques and styles.  You will also discover historical information and links to help supply you with fodder for practice and creative inspiration.  It is my hope that these diary entries provide you with not only short-term material but a lifetime of learning and fun.

In this month’s diary you will find a plethora of fire-starters for your daily practice sessions including: chop building exercises for your hands, rudiments, styles for drumset, bass guitar and drum videos as well as four videos to help form a good foundation for brushes.
