High Hopes at Sunrise

Villain. That's what Liddy Baker adopted as her permanent persona.

Which is why she always ran around alone. Saying everything that was on her mind and not caring who it ever hurt.  

But being the lone wolf wasn't a new concept to her. It meant she had to fend for herself. And when both your parents die back to back, and you go from foster home to foster home, you have to be fierce. You have to do what you have to do to survive.

Whether people liked it or not, Liddy didn't care. She did what she wanted, when she wanted. And that's how she always found herself alone, no friends, no family, and only guys that wanted to hook up more than hang out.

At least that's what she thought.

She was about to be eighteen and suddenly people were coming out of the woods saying how much they cared about her. And it was all sparked by one guy. One guy with the most infectious smile that even a cold-hearted Liddy couldn't help but smile back at. He even got her to touch a soccer ball after so many years of avoiding one.

But was Liddy ready to relinquish her villain status? Or was she going to keep being the lone wolf that secretly had a soft side at sunrise?

Because for as long as she remembered, a new sunrise meant hope for a better day. And Liddy was always hoping for a better life.
