One of the biggest complaints for chronically ill writers is that they are in a lot of pain. Writers typically sit all day. Therefore, they struggle to manage their pain levels. This can really set them up to a life of difficulty and hardship.

One of the best things that writers can do for themselves is to manage pain and fatigue. This need not be hard to do yet it is possible with a bit of planning and mindfulness. To be successful, it must be something that is doable so that you can easily incorporate it into your daily life.

The good news is that pain management can be achieved by taking a few simple steps daily. As a result, not only will you improve your quality of life, but you will also sleep better, thus improving your pain and fatigue levels for the next day.

When you experience pain for a prolonged time, you probably have had several levels of frustration and stress before you got to where you are overwhelmed with pain. Then you enter the vicious pain cycle that is hard to get out of without a lot of planning, patience, and perspicacity. Otherwise, you will probably continue to feel more pain to the point where you don’t believe that we can manage it.

We can envisage the pain cycle as follows. Your disease pain will cause tense muscles which will cause stress. Stress will cause fear, anger, and frustration which can lead to depression and fatigue.

So, to break the pain cycle, you must focus on not becoming part of this cycle. But that is hard to do because the first step in the process is that you have disease pain. And every chronically ill writer will have disease pain consistently.
