An exclusive invitation to a luxurious island resort should be the holiday of a lifetime for Emma. But beneath the lavish settings and indulgent amenities, lies a sinister plot waiting to be uncovered.
Emma's boss, Rebecca, gifted her the ticket to Hotel Horizen's grand opening, but Emma has her own agenda - to write a tell-all article about the rich and famous guests. Little did she know, this weekend would become a nightmare she never could have imagined.
As she delves deeper into the secrets of the elite, Emma realises she may have bitten off more than she can chew. Will she uncover the truth and make her mark as a journalist, or will she become the next victim in this twisted game of power and deception?
If you enjoyed "The Guest List" by Lucy Foley or "One by One" by Ruth Ware, you won't want to miss this gripping thriller.

Thank you to BookSirens for the ARC of this book.
I didn’t like Emma, our protagonist. I found it very hard to like her or sympathise with her or her ‘motive’ to do things. She didn’t have her priorities straight, and she definitely didn’t have her convictions or morals defined. I felt she would change her mind in just a couple of sentences, multiple times around. She would criticise too rapidly and then do the exact same thing she condemned, herself. I understand it was a stressful and traumatic situation, but I just couldn’t get past it.
In another note, I really liked the ending of the book. The ending saved it for me. I really enjoy this type of twists and this type of storyline.
The writing was also enjoyable, not perfect for me (my own personal opinion and my ability to fly through the pages, as that is different for every reader).
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past my dislike of Emma and so my rating is average, 3 stars.
I do recommend reading it tho, as it can be entertaining and fast paced.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
