Throughout history, humankind has seen itself as being a cut above the rest of creation. We are the only ones who speak complex languages, build rocket ships, and create beautiful works of art. We have subjugated all of forms of life on this planet, and have brought them under our loving and nurturing care. However, what if this was not always the case? Is it possible that we are merely a cog in the grand evolutionary scheme: a microorganism with delusions of grandeur? Could it be possible that we are no more than apes that won the evolutionary jackpot?
