This book is about using some kind of stimulus (e.g. photo, art, data, artifact), a thinking routine and technology (VoiceThread on MacBook and Post-it Plus app on iOS) to improve learners’ metacognition and spark their inquiry.


The target audience is teachers at any level teaching any subjects, who are interested in expanding their teaching techniques to introduce new topics. 


The purpose of this book is to introduce one of the thinking routines and demonstrate how it can be used to scaffold for students in units of study. The focus is on introductory part of the unit. Examples of students’ work are included.
