Gene Stratton-Porter was an American author, amateur naturalist, wildlife photographer. She was one of the earliest women to form a movie studio and production company. Some works of the author were translated into different languages, and they were estimated to have had 50 million readers around the world. She was the supporter of the conservation of wild nature. 

This romance novel describes the life of a hermit, who lived alone and supported  himself by growing, harvesting and drying medicinal herbs. One day he met a beautiful woman, he fell in love with her. But soon the woman was ill and died. What did he done after that? Read the story to know!
