Beth's grandparents are poor, but she has nowhere else to stay even though she feels guilty.  When Beth has the opportunity to make money after school, she doesn't hesitate. Carolyn loves fashion and knows she has the build to be a model, so when a wealthy patron offers to sponsor her, Carolyn doesn't hesitate. At first Beth and Carolyn's experiences are fun, but darkness descends and they never will be the same again.
