Thomas J. Bain v. State Texas

Trial was before the jury upon appellants plea of not guilty of murder. After finding appellant guilty, the jury assessed punishment at life. The conviction was reversed by the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Supreme Judicial District (Amarillo) in an unpublished opinion. We granted the States petition for discretionary review in order to examine the Court of Appeals holding that appellants confession was the fruit of an illegal arrest.
