Strasbourg, 1518. A city strangled by drought, fear, and a plague that forces its victims to dance without end.

When Evelina del Valle, a brilliant medical student with a dangerous secret, is sent to investigate, she finds a city teetering on the brink of ruin, and a sickness that defies every scientific principle she's ever known. With her colleagues trapped beyond the city walls and suspicion mounting against her, Evelina must tread carefully through cobbled streets and blistering squares where music never stops and dancers drop like flies.

But Strasbourg is not only haunted by the sickness. Shadows stretch from deeper realms, where a fae king reins with plans of his own. And when Evelina crosses paths with a brooding stranger who seems to loathe her on sight, the lines between logic and her heart begin to blur.
