穆桂英Mu Guiying

连环画《穆桂英》把传统杨家将故事中的多个情节融合在一起,讲述了在辽兵南下之际,杨宗保与穆桂英通过比武打斗相识,互为钟情,于私定婚约后双双奔赴沙场,并在穆桂英的指挥下,宋军攻破天门阵,大败辽兵的过程。整个故事完整,且别具积极向上的意味。
The picture-story book “Mu Guiying” incorporates many plots of the traditional story of the Yang generations. It depicts the first meet of Yang Zongbao and Mu Guiying in a martial arts contest and their love for each other, and how they are secretly engaged and hasten together to the battle between the Liao Dynasty and the Song Dynasty when the former is pushing southward, and how the Song army headed by Mu Guiying breaks the Heavenly Gate Formation and defeats the Liao Dynasty.
