Winter has finally arrived in the idyllic town of Silverkeep, which means chilly mornings and the southern town's own brand of winter solstice magic. Baker Lillie Dean is as busy as ever with her usual customers as well as those looking for a sweet solstice treat - and trying her best not to take the myth of a legendary white squirrel too seriously. 

But when said squirrel makes an appearance, the town is thrown into a frenzy. Some legends say capturing the squirrel ensures good luck for the coming year, while others believe the creature is an omen. And even the least superstitious are whipped into action when Mr. Globe posts a reward for anyone who can capture it. 

Lillie's got her own reasons for looking for the creature - namely, getting Mr. Globe to forgive her debts so she can finally be with his son, Julian - but the more she learns about this mythical squirrel, the less sure she is that anyone has the right story.
