A Pie to Die For

Thanksgiving on the boardwalk means pie, and this year the Tattletale Café is hosting the town's first Thanksgiving Pie Contest. Every entry fee and every auctioned pie will help pay for a free community dinner for neighbors in need. Leigh-Ann Hackett has quietly entered her cranberry-orange pie, and she's hoping it's a winner.

Then the contest's celebrity judge, notoriously harsh food critic Winston Hale, takes one bite of her pie and collapses.

Now the café is a crime scene, the pies are evidence, and the auction is frozen. Worse, the police need to speak with the café's owner, and Leigh-Ann's best-kept secret is out: the friendly server everyone thought they knew has owned the Tattletale Café all along. Winston had threatened the café with a scathing review, so to the town it looks like the rich widow had the perfect motive.

With sponsors backing out, her best friend Dee under suspicion, and Detective Corbin hurt that she kept the truth from him, Leigh-Ann turns to the café's two biggest gossips, Liz and Nora. Between the three of them, they'll need to sort the sweet talkers from the sour grapes before a killer gets away with murder and the town's Thanksgiving dinner is lost.

A Pie to Die For is Book 3 in the Tattletale Café Mysteries, a cozy series with a Florida boardwalk setting, friendships that hold through anything, and a puzzle you can solve along with Leigh-Ann. No gore, no swearing, and a recipe at the end.
