Awful in Anchorage

I left L.A. to outrun vampire politics and the ghosts trailing me. Anchorage was supposed to be quiet, a cold, distant place to disappear for Christmas and maybe even the rest of my second, bloodthirsty life.

Instead, I walk straight into another nightmare.

Vampires are vanishing in the snow, humans are on edge, and Sasha Reed—a relentless investigator with a stare sharp enough to cut ice—has decided I’m the problem. She doesn’t trust me. That’s okay. I don’t trust her either.

But when an old enemy returns and the Winter Lights Festival turns dangerous, we can either work together or die apart.
