Blame It On the Plot

Two authors—one famous, one floundering—and a love story that writes itself. Daniel J. Fishman is a household name in the thriller world, but after years of churning out books on autopilot, he’s lost his creative spark. Olivia Cole, on the other hand, is a struggling romance author whose debut bombed, and she hasn’t finished a book since. The two meet at an author event when they both plug their dying laptops in to charge at the same outlet and strike up a conversation that leads to instant chemistry. He’s appearing in Olivia’s manuscript, storming through her cozy town like it’s a crime scene. Neither of them can explain it. But it seems there’s only one solution: team up and finish the story together. Down in sun-soaked Key West, the two clash and collaborate, learning each other’s writing rhythms and quirks—until their characters aren’t the only ones catching feelings. But when publishing pressures threaten to tear apart both their story and their shot at something real, Daniel and Olivia must decide: stick to the script, or rewrite the rules?
