Chaos Ensues

Two teen con artists—a fake chosen one and a reluctant prophet—must team up to meet a vengeful goddess’s ultimatum by wreaking havoc on a peaceful kingdom in this cozy fantasy adventure from the New York Times bestselling author of Spell Bound and So This Is Ever After.

Lief is stuck. As keeper of his family’s prophecy, he’s trapped in boring Woolshire until it is fulfilled. So when a young woman unexpectedly climbs out of a grave in the middle of town, Lief seizes his chance and declares her the Chosen One destined to usher in an age of prosperity.

Nora goes along with the lie—mostly to avoid the ire of the superstitious mob that witnessed her emergence. (Apparently, sleeping in a freshly dug grave has consequences.) But for a drifter, the free room and board that come with the job are a great deal. And how hard can it be to fake prosperity in a kingdom that’s already thriving?

It’s a flawless con…until the Goddess of Chaos decides Nora is stealing devotion from the true gods. Her ultimatum: crawl back into the grave or unleash enough chaos to repay the debt. Then the handsome prince and his gorgeous bodyguard arrive to meet the Chosen One, catching Lief and Nora’s eye and complicating everything.

Now Nora and Lief must choose: plunge the kingdom into discord and risk losing their crushes—or face the wrath of a goddess.
