Depressed in Denver

It’s infuriating being a demon who’s kicked out of Hell. I know it’s wrong of me, but I curse the first human I see—a beautiful young woman. Now, she’s as depressed as I am.

To feel better about myself, I follow her around to watch the curse take effect. She’s trying to fight it and still succeed in life. She’s depressed, but she’s not angry. She’s just putting her head down and still trying.

I’m impressed... but also annoyed because my curse should be stronger than her will.

So I try to help the curse along, and she notices me. More than that, she recognizes what I did to her.

And she’s trying to recruit her guardian angel to take me down.

Just who is this woman? Why am I so invested in this? In her?

If I’ve fallen for her, maybe it’s just as well that I got kicked out of Hell, but how am I going to right my wrongs?

Am I even a demon for wanting to do that?
