Empathy Conveyance

Effective empathic communication has been shown to have an enormous positive impact on patient health outcomes, patient experience and patient safety.   Developing empathic relationships with patients through skilled communication has also been shown to improve providers’ job satisfaction, as well as diagnostic accuracy.    While most of us engage in empathic communication naturally with others, with purposeful practice, we can continually improve our skills, becoming increasingly effective in helping others.
