A World Travel Journal From The 1980s

Descripción editorial

In August 1986 Mark Richards and his girlfriend Lesley packed in their jobs and decided to travel the world, full circle, east to west.  They planned their general route carefully, knowing that they would need to be back in time for Mark's sister’s wedding, ten months later.  This book is a contemporary record of that adventure, taken directly from Mark's handwritten page-a-day diary.  But it’s not just a travel journal - it’s a love story between two people who were engaged in Fiji and married in Hong Kong (under British rule in those days, so all legitimate); a couple who experienced happiness, frustration, fear, illness, love, boredom, exhilaration and ultimately self-fulfilment; but most of all, the memories of the wonderful people they met and the sheer joy of being young and alive and discovering what was for them an unknown world.
