After her last harrowing battle against void demons, Anna is more than ready for a little normal and a reunion with her mother, where she expects the most difficult task will be introducing her mom to Obsidian, her gargoyle partner.

But as soon as Anna returns home, she immediately notices something is wrong. And when she catches her mother digging up and stealing an ancient grimoire from a coven of young blood witches, Anna's restful reunion becomes anything but peaceful.

Soon she's on the run, trying to save her mom and her gargoyle partner from a coven of young blood witches seeking to reclaim the ancient and malevolent grimoire.

But the grimoire has its own plans for Anna and Obsidian.

Author's note:

There are two elderly dogs in this tale, one has cancer. But the author and Obsidian don't like sad endings, so through the awesomeness of fiction and magic, there are soon two new gargoyle-dogs running around this novel.
