Mountain Ma'am

Mountain Ma'am is the first in a series about the adventures of Callie Dawson in post-Civil War Colorado. While trying to survive in the rugged snow-capped Rockies, Callie encounters wild animals and is surprised when they help her. She discovers she is the Mountain Ma'am, head of the loose coalition of humans and animals making up the Laramide Nation. It becomes Callie's life-long destiny to protect the environment and animals.
