Dex and Marianela spent a magical weekend together. Three days later she was assigned to his combat platoon as their field medic and he found out she was his best friend's little sister. They had to act like they'd never met.

Tragedy strikes and eight years later she's the new emergency room physician in his small town. He's never stopped thinking about her and all the things he should have done. She can't forgive him for the things he couldn't say.
