The sins of the past take new form in the next entry in the series. Yaphet Orinse has wanted nothing more than to join the Mystic Order his entire life. Few wield magic in the land of Sebel, and the few who do stand above all the rest. Yaphet's dream, however, has become a nightmare. His Holiness the Asum has gone missing. An unexpected tragedy forces him to abandon everything he ever knew, including his beloved sister. With honest work no longer an option, Janno turns to the world of crime to achieve his dream of a better life for his family. Time, however, is not on his side. A band of rebels wants to hire Janno for a job, and at the same time the law is quickly catching up with him. With no options left, the thief may just have to stake it all on one last gamble.
